MSDE Annual EE Briefing

The 2009 MSDE Annual Environmental Education Agency Briefing will be held on Monday, November 16, 2009, 9:00- 3:00 at the Patuxent River 4-H Center in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Up-to-date information will be provided about MSDE's Environmental Education program, including a featured presentation by KathyMcNerney, MSDE’s Career and Technology Education Coordinator, who will speak about the Environmental, Agricultural and Natural Resource Systems Management career programs available to high school students. Join Mike Mason, MSDE’s Physical Education Coordinator, who will speak about the State PE curriculum and its ties to environmental, outdoor and adventure education. We will also be compiling a database of EE opportunities for students. In addition, there will be updates from MAEOE and the Chesapeake Bay Trust and an MSDE report on progress towards implementing the Environmental Literacy Plan, including the presentation of model programs and the Governor’s Regional Environmental Education Network. The briefing is also a time to share and to renew friendships among the many educators who are working toward a better environment in Maryland.

Morning coffee and tea will be provided. Lunch is available for $5 on site, or you may bring your own.
