Congratulations Farm to School!

We spent a great day at Indian Creek Upper School on Wednesday with over 150 attendees to the first Maryland Farm to School Workshop sponsored by the Maryland Department of Agriculture. The new webpage was unveiled and is FULL of cool stuff for schools, food procurement directors, teachers, parents, farmers, and distributors. Farm to School week is coming fast! Join the movement Sept. 14 – 18 and get involved. Grow, buy and eat local – it’s all good and good for everybody!

As suggested by various sources, I put her ootheca in a glass jar, covered the top with fabric, and am storing it in my frig until next spring. I'm hoping to hatch baby mantises next spring. Way cool!
